·         The cry for independence.
·         Abolition of slavery declared in Valladolid.
·         The creation of an army with lack of organization.
·         There was no military strategy or direction.
·         Generalized insurrection.
·         Violence and disorganization characterized this period.
·         Hidalgo takes as a banner an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Atotonilco el alto.
·         Organization of the first insurrected government in Guadalajara.
·         Most of this movement took place in El Bajio.
·         The first newspaper “El Despertador Americano” created by Ignacio López Rayón.
·         Ignacio Elizondo (cacique texano) betrayed Hidalgo’s movement.
