Conspiracy movements in New Spain
Valladolid in 1809 leaded by Mariano Michelena and Mariano Abasolo. They tried to form a congress to govern in the name of king Ferdinand VII. This movement was discovered and Michelena and Abasolo were send to prison but they set free from all charges by Viceroy Lizana
San Miguel el Grande in 1809 leaded by Ignacio Allende, Ignacio Aldama and Mariano Abasolo, seeking to establish a provisional government and to be recognized by the United States of America. This movement was denounced captured and later set free. But it gave birth to a new conspiracy movement in Queretaro during 1810 which beside looking to be recognized by the USA and a provisional government system they were also after an equal treatment for Criollos and Peninsulares. The most important characters in this movement were: Ignacio Allende, Ignacio Aldama, Mariano Abasolo, Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez and Miguel Hidalgo.
